Quick cure constipation with a salt water flush

it's good to poop with a salt water flush
One in three of us get a little constipated now and then, but for some people it's a long term, chronic condition. Even if you're not constipated often, the digestive tract gets blocked and needs a clear out like any other plumbing device. And, if you think about, even when you do finally go to the loo, there will still be a back log of fecal matter clinging the insides of your colon.

A salt water flush is an easy do-at-home remedy. It's cheap, it's easy and it shifts constipation fast.

Salt water flush
  • Mix two teaspoons of unrefined mineral salt (not iodized table salt) with 1 litre  water. It may be hard to swallow at first, but you get used to it!
  • Drink the liquid salt first thing in the morning on an empty stomach
  • Rest for 30 minutes - it may help to lie on your side
  • Go to the toilet

The first movements will be watery, but throughout the day they will become more solid.

Which salt?
Natural source salt like sea salt, evaporated salt, mineral salt, Himalayan salt are all fine - Just don't use table salt

Why salt water?
An yogic Auyurvedic cleansing practice, called shank prakshalana, or internal purification, the salt water flush draws impurities out of organs inside the body. It is also good for colds, high blood pressure, fever as well as digestive tract conditions.

The salt water flush is raved about by raw foodies, detox junkies, fasting gurus and anyone seeking to eliminate waste. Yogis recommended it to be done between 5am and 7am - but go easy on yourself and do it when you naturally get up.

It works because the salt does not separate from the water but washes through the digestive tract swiftly. The body does not absorb the salt so the kidneys are safe and the blood is unharmed.

How often can I do one?
Your digestive tract will begin to clear after just one flush but you can do a salt water intestine flush every day for 7 days. However, then take a break or you may come to rely on it to go to the loo.
