While the debate regarding NHS funding of homeopathic medicine continues, still thousands of people are turning to homeopathy to cure all manner of common and serious ailments.
The House of Commons Science & Technology committee, a cross party group, argue that there simply isn't enough evidence to justify the £4million the NHS spends across the four homeopathic hospitals every year.
But the British Homeopathic Association (BHA) says that, on average, "70% of follow-up patients report an improvement in their symptoms after treatment".
A group of skeptics staged a demonstration outside Boots stores earlier in the year, swallowing whole bottles of the 'sugar pills', to prove they were ineffective. But supporters of the remedies, including Labour's Ian Stewart MP, a member of the S&T committee has disowned the report as it has disregarded the fact that homeopathy does work for some people.
The Department of Health spokesperson said that "the local NHS and clinicians, not Whitehall, are bet placed to ascertain which treatments are appropriate for patients" so the matter is still under scrutiny.
Homeopathy strikes a discordant note with those who dispute the dilution process, but while the subject proves controversial, you can decide for yourself whether or not it works by accessing homeopathic cures from trained and certified homeopaths to tackle all forms of illness.
